1. Why are there no 1 or 2 star reviews on your site?
A: We try to remember to treat others how we would like to be treated. If we can’t give a book at least a three star review, we decline to post a review rather than posting something negative.
2. Q: Why are you featuring some older books on your site?
A: Many of our readers are unfamiliar with Christian speculative fiction and have never heard of these authors. As our page gets older, we might focus on newer books after introducing our readers to existing authors.
3. Q: Do you rate books for biblical accuracy?
A: “Biblical accuracy” can be a loaded question. There are many groups who believe slightly different things about various scriptures. We are trying to be as inclusive as possible. If you want to have a discussion with someone about a scripture, by all means do so….but not on a public page. Try getting to know them first, and have your discussion privately in person, on the phone or by FB messenger.
4. Q: Do you have ANY opinions on Biblical topics?
A: Sure we do! We don’t review anything here that is overtly anti-God. We also might say something (or more likely, decline to review) if there are huge theological errors – for example, saying that people can get to heaven without Jesus.
5. Q: How does your site make money?
A. HHB doesn’t make us any money. We’re all volunteers, and the review site does not generate income. We tried using Amazon Associates links, but it wasn’t a good fit for us. If you’d like to support our site, the best ways to do it is are signing up for our newsletter and buying our books!
